Everyone deserves healthy relationships.

When talking about “relationships”, we’re talking about romantic and/or sexual relationships, but also friendships and other kinds of relationships. The bottom line is you deserve to feel respected, appreciated, and supported by those around you. This may look different for different relationships.

Join the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Gender, Culture, Women, and Sexuality February 6 on Zoom at 6:30pm for a panel of scholars, activists, and artists, discussion on the relationship between sexualities education and social justice, part of the Feminisms Unbound speaker series.

“Safe Relationships OPEN MIC Night”

Hear spoken word and musical performances by NU students, and support awareness for dating and domestic violence. Funds raised during the event will support Casa Myrna. While the content of open mic performances are encouraged or discouraged to be related to the event subject, content warnings will be provided where necessary, and fidget toys and grounding techniques will be available for attendees as needed.

screening of “At Your Cervix” with GCWS

Join the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Gender, Culture, Women, and Sexuality in screening At Your Cervix as part of the annual Women Take The Reel Film Festival. At Your Cervix breaks the silence about how medical students learn to perform pelvic exams. It is followed by a Q&A discussion with the director, A'magine, and a light reception. Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people worldwide. Their mission is to ensure all people have access to the care and resources they need to make informed decisions about their bodies, their lives, and their futures.

Love is respect aims to disrupt and prevent unhealthy relationships and intimate partner violence by empowering young people through inclusive and equitable education, support, and resources. A project of the National Domestic Violence Hotline, love is respect offers 24/7 information, support, and advocacy to young people between the ages of 13 and 26 who have questions or concerns about their romantic relationships.

One Love Foundation is a national non-profit with the goal of ending relationship abuse. We empower young people with tools and resources to see the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and bring life-saving prevention education to their communities.

The SVRC provides confidential, trauma-informed support services to Northeastern students who have experienced any form of sexual violence. The SVRC supports students who have experienced sexual violence both recently or in the past, regardless of location. SVRC staff work with students to understand their rights and resources, and support survivors in making the best choices for them going forward.

Need free safer sex supplies and live in university housing? You’re eligible for the Frisky Husky program. Supplies available include external condoms, internal condoms, oral dams, and personal lubricant. Each package also comes with education about communication with partners, STI testing, and more!

Oakland Resources

CAPS offers in-person individual and group counseling sessions on its Oakland campus to support student wellness and success. The professional staff at CAPS can assist students with addressing issues common in college settings, including personal issues, relationship issues, developmental issues, gender affirmation procedure assignments, and more!

The Office of Health and Wellness partners with student organizations to host activities and workshops promoting healthy attitudes and choices. They also provide resources on the following topics, among others: personal wellness, sexual and reproductive health, stress management, drug and alcohol safety, chronic illness, the healthcare system, mental health, and more.

The CHRC is a student-run, on-campus space that provides confidential, safe access to information and resources for all genders. This includes, but is not limited to: Safe-sex supplies, information on positive sexuality and LGBTQ+ health rights, information on domestic violence prevention and crisis intervention, nutrition and body image counseling, local doctors and clinics, and more. Students now have 24/7 access to low-cost emergency contraception and other sexual health supplies via a new wellness vending machine located outside the Community Health Resource Center.
